Maryam al-Khawaja took the stage at the Oslo Freedom Forum
last Tuesday and stunned the audience with her experiences of
government violence in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She described the killing
of student protestors, the torture of democracy advocates, and how
human rights defenders are "disappeared." Maryam also detailed how
troops from a neighboring dictatorship, Saudi Arabia, rushed into
Bahrain to prop up the crown prince's regime.
Ali Abdulemam, a renowned Bahraini blogger, was also invited to the Oslo Freedom Forum.
Ali was imprisoned by his government in September 2010 for "spreading
false information." After being released on February 23, he
enthusiastically accepted his speaking invitation and plans were made
for his travel. And then he disappeared. No one has seen or heard from
him since March 18...

In the fierce heat of the Hackgate firestorm in July this year, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg took to Sky News to air his views on News International.
His most damning statement was “The Leveson Inquiry should investigate senior British Intelligence officers on the payroll of News International.” It was a devastating revelation.
The Oxbridge criminals and Eton mafia who run MI5 and MI6 had not seen it coming, just like 7/7, and it blew up in their faces. Behind the scenes, MI5 Director General Jonathan Evans pulled strings to ensure Clegg did not drop the bombshell again.
The spooks were deeply rattled. Exposure means the end of milking the taxpayer dry. And the thought of a criminal investigation into their innumerable crimes, too much to contemplate.
They did not need to worry. MI5 have primacy over the police and the plods would do as ordered and turn blind eyes. Special Branch units would ensure blind obedience and any dissident would be persuaded otherwise.
The main problem was Nick Clegg. Would he keep stumb?
Since his petulant ‘outburst’ on Sky News in July in the eye of the storm, Clegg has kept his mouth shut on the foregoing. No more allegations of corruption or treason inside MI5 and MI6.
The Oxbridge crooks must have hoped no one noticed what Clegg said but I was on the matter immediately. I spread the good news through Facebook and Twitter. The damage was done.
Of course, the spooks have been trying to silence me for several years and have not succeeded just yet. Perhaps a prosecution for Income Tax evasion, their usual dirty trick, would do the job? Not convinced? I am assured it is already in the pipeline…
Which begs the question why anyone would want to pay ‘taxes’ to finance an organised criminal gang?
And Clegg of course has kept his big mouth shut since July. Having asked him to explain his statement several times, Clegg has ignored the questions and tried to pretend his ‘outburst’ never happened.
Poor Clegg must bitterly regret speaking the truth because politicians rarely do and dropping the spooks in the stinking cesspit that is Hackgate, is intolerable for the rotten Establishment.
Judge Leveson refuses to ‘investigate’ the allegation by Clegg and will not allow the issue to be dealt with even in camera. Another tame little judge…
The ‘crusading’ clowns at The Guardian, apparently a ‘moral’ newspaper, refuse to touch the matter in its entirety. As usual, the puppet media are running scared of the spooks who know all their sordid secrets.
Have the spooks got away with selling State ‘secrets’ to News International for large sums of cash? For the time being certainly but “events dear boy, events” will intervene in due course and then the whole house of cards will come crashing down.
As for Nick Clegg, he’s a spineless, self-interested MP, who jumped in at the deep end and found he couldn’t swim with the big fish.
The “senior British Intelligence officers on the payroll of News International” however, will come to regret the day they sold their souls to the Murdoch mafia.

Next week Leveson will be hearing witnesses. Of these, I will be
particularly interested in hearing Steven Nott, Ian Hurst and Jacqui

Steven is the guy who accidentally discovered how to hack voicemails,
warned the police, customs, MI5 and the newspapers, but was completely
ignored by all of them for years. Ian Hurst is the former army
intelligence officer whose computer was hacked for NoW and Jacqui Hames
is the wife of David Cook, the officer in charge of the fourth and fifth
investigations into Daniel's murder.
In June 2002, Jacqui Hames and David Cook took part in a Crimewatch
appeal for witnesses that could help solve Daniel's murder. The police
were particularly interested in a woman who came forward after the first
Crimewatch appeal in May 1987. The woman had told police that she'd
overheard a group of men in a pub, The Harp in West Croydon, plotting to

Of course, Morgan is now the host of Piers Morgan Tonight, the nightly hourlong show that replaced Larry King Live on CNN in January, and in some ways is further from Murdoch’s reach than he’s ever been. Though a notorious tabloid editor in England for more than a decade—first at NotW, then at the Daily Mirror—until recently Morgan was a relative unknown on these shores. He was familiar chiefly to reality-TV aficionados, as the chain-mail-wearing, Omarosa-thrashing winner of Celebrity Apprentice and as a panelist on America’s Got Talent, where for all six seasons he has been the buzzer-happy hanging judge at ease crushing the dreams of angel-faced 6-year-olds. To those who knew him only as a pantomime villain, or not at all, it seemed inexplicable when he was handed Larry King’s nine-o’clock hour on CNN, one of the fattest plums in cable news. How much are lawyers profiting from the public purse? We aren’t allowed to know.
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has rejected a Freedom of Information request asking for details of payments to legal firm Carter Ruck for work for the former Assistant Commissioner, John Yates, who resigned earlier this year after the service was criticised over its investigation into phone hacking.
In July, author Richard Wilson asked for details of all payments made by the MPS to Carter Ruck, a well-known company that specialises in libel actions, since 2005. He asked for details of the services any payments were for, and how much each payment was.
He also requested confirmation of whether the MPS had covered the costs of Carter Ruck’s work for John Yates. Complaints on Yates’ behalf had been made to news organisations over their reporting of his role in the phone-hacking investigation.
An excuse
The Freedom of Information Act requires public bodies to respond to requests within 20 working days. But on the day this deadline passed, the MPS said it would need another two weeks to give an answer because it had moved offices.
When it eventually replied, it confirmed it had paid Carter Ruck for Yates. But details of other work and costs incurred were not released, as this was deemed to be ‘personal information’.
Personal information is exempt under s.40 of the Freedom of Information Act. Yet it is difficult to see how amounts paid for pieces of work could constitute personal information; the request was for details of payments to a company, not an individual. If the exemption was used because it was for work done on behalf of an individual – John Yates – it is even harder to see how it is appropriate as Yates didn’t pay the costs himself.
Although the Freedom of Information Act wasn’t able to uncover how much was paid to Carter-Ruck to handle Yates’ complaints, the Independent reports today that the firm received over £7,000 for the case. Why such ‘personal information’ was able to be publicly revealed to the Metropolitan Police Authority and the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee but not to a member of the public is unclear.
The payment of Yates’ costs also raises questions. The MPS’ response said payments for legal advice were only made ‘for cases which have the potential to bring the organisation as a whole into disrepute’. But if the complaints brought the MPS into disrepute, why were they sent on Yates’ behalf rather than the MPS’?
Internal review
Not satisfied with the response, Richard Wilson asked for an internal review. There’s no time limit for a review set out in the Freedom of Information Act, but the Information Commissioner’s Office says that public bodies should try to complete reviews in 20 working days.
Two weeks after asking for a review, he received an acknowledgement. Last Friday, another two weeks after that, the MPS told him there had been a delay and that the review would be completed by October 20. It gave no reason for this, and a complaint is being made to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
It’s now been over two months since the original request was made, and will be another month before the outcome of the internal review is known. There have been repeated delays, sometimes without any explanation, and a seemingly strange interpretation of ‘personal information’ used to justify withholding information.
The Freedom of Information Act is supposed to open up public bodies. But as this case shows, access to information can still be denied and delayed.

A Different Look At The Riots.
The recent riots in London and the rest of the UK, brought fear and consternation to many.
Businesses lost money and property due to the looting.
Some people lost homes and all their possessions.
The initial trouble began in Tottenham, after the shooting of Mark Duggan and the subsequent mishandling of the grieving family.
Not helped by the 'misleading' statement from the NonIPCC.
Sporadic violence then erupted throughout London.
The two major incidents, to my mind, were the fires in Croyden and Greenwich.
The Croyden furniture store had been a family run business for 140 years.
These days, the internet must surely be forcing these types of stores out of business.
Great that nobody was hurt in the fire and lucky that the insurance will pay out, handsomely.
The property destroyed by arson in the second incident appears more intentional.
Developers have been casting their greedy eyes over this for years now.
The local supermarket on the ground floor had long left due to the high rent.
Leaving a collection of flats above, all on protected rents.
The land, especially with the Olympics coming is worth millions.
It was burnt to the ground !
Makes looting tvs and trainers look trivial, doesnt it ?

More Horror In Dunblane.
A Dunblane survivor is facing life in prison for carrying out a sex attack on an OAP.
Ryan Liddell, 20, was found guilty of assault with intent to rape following a trial in June.
Liddell had been shot in the chest and arm, by Thomas Hamilton, during the "Dunblane massacre", of 1996, in which 16 young children and their teacher died.
The 76 year old victim was kicked in the head and lost two teeth in the attack.
A terrible, frightening ordeal.

This story made me think about the Dunblane massacre, again.
Didn't Thomas Hamilton run a boys club in the town ?
Hamilton was a suspected paedophile, though this was not brought up at the inquest(s) into the massacre.
Could Lyddell have attended the boys club ?
How many other Dunblane boys attended ?
Do the abused become the abuser ?
And Thomas Hamilton had powerful friends.
Were they aware of Hamiltons predilections for violence ?
So many questions...
I truly hope this will be the last chaper of horror for Dunblane.
Yet, somehow, I doubt it.

Private investigator Glenn Mulcaire has revealed the names of the News of the World staff who instructed him to carry out phone hacking, his solicitor has confirmed.
The information was passed in a letter to Steve Coogan's lawyers in accordance with a court order.
Mulcaire had applied for permission to appeal against the order, which was made in February, but this was denied and he was compelled to pass over the details by Friday.
His solicitor, Sarah Webb, from Payne Hicks Beach, said she could not reveal who the NoW employees were because of "confidentiality issues".
Schillings, which is representing Coogan, has agreed not to reveal the names yet, to give Payne Hicks Beach a chance to apply for a court order stopping their release.
Mulcaire was ordered to reveal who instructed him to access Coogan's voicemails, as well as those of celebrities including Max Clifford and Elle Macpherson.
He was jailed for six months in 2007 for intercepting messages left on royal aides' phones.
A spokeswoman for News International said the firm had no comment.

The US Justice(!) department is to investigate S & P's credit ratings of toxic bonds in the years leading upto the 2008 financial collapse.

One Resignation. Another Death.
Metropolitan Police Deputy, John Yates, resigned last night.
His position had become untenable, yet he still stared like a man who thinks "fuck you, all".
His integrity intact ?
Hardly.
"No evidence", Yates whined.
There was plenty of evidence, but like many senior officers before him, he looked the other way.
The fact he was having an affair, coupled with the knowledge his own phone was hacked and people may know of his extra marital activities, was enough to blind John Yates.
Sean Hoare, a former News of the World reporter, was found dead at his home, yesterday.
A spokeman for Hertford Police said the death "although unexplained, was not suspicious".
It was Hoare, who first blew the whistle on the phone hacking activities of Andy Coulson, the Prime Minister's communications chief.
RIP Sean Hoare.

The sordid tale of phone hacking by Murdoch, News of the World and News International is only the tip of a very large iceberg.
Prime Ministers, High Court Judges and top ranking Policeman have all been victims of phone hacking, since the 1980's.
Huge dossiers have been compiled on the most influential people in our society, but for why ?
Information is Power !
But, what information will have been gathered on these powerful people ?
What would the information have been used for ?
And who are the information gatherers ?
Rupert Murdoch bought the News of the World in 1969.
He bought up other newspapers and businesses and his UK empire grew quickly.
As did his influence in British politics.
In the late 70's and early 80's, Murdoch engaged serving Metropolitan policemen to do his spying and dirty work for him.
The moonlighting policemen even set up a company called Southern Investigations.
The directors of the private investigation firm were Johnathon Rees and Daniel Morgan.
In 1987, Daniel Morgan began investigating rumours that Metropolitan Police officers were engaged in drug running and paedophilia.
Morgan believed that the criminality was at the very top of the Metropolitan Police force.
Morgan was found with an axe in his head outside the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham.
Johnathon Rees was suspected of the murder, along with other serving Met officers.
The murder was investigated by a DS Sidney Fillery, amongst others.
The case failed due to either incompetence or corruption by the Met Police.
DS Fillery, later joined Southern Investigations as a business partner !
Johnathon Rees, with Sidney Fillery, continued their spying business.
And cashing Murdoch's cheques for 'dirty deeds done not dirt cheap'.
Rees even crowed that "no-one pays like the News of the World".
Andy Coulson enjoyed the fruits of Rees work when he became editor of the News of the World.
Rees was finally jailed for fraud and planting false evidence at a crime scene.
Ex-Met, Sidney Fillery was busted for child pornography but escaped jail and put on a 3 year probation.

News International Was Blackmailing John Yates.
In 2009, John Yates, assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, decided that there was no evidence to re-open an investigation in phone hacking by News International.
John Yates spent an entire day(!) perusing the allegations and decided not to investigate.
A decision he now admits was "pretty crap".
Was his decision making infuenced by the knowledge that his own phone had been hacked by NI ?
He was aware he himself had been a target and yet, said and did nothing.
John Yates, a married man, was having an affair.
Was the UK's chief officer in counter terrorism a victim of blackmail ?
Jail Andy Coulson.

But, because, the police investigated this matter recently and found nothing amiss.
Do we have a world where dodgy newspapers can break the law with impunity ?
Do we have a police force that turns a blind eye to wrong doing as long as they get a kick back ?

Southern Cross Care Not At All.
Peter Peterson, an ex CEO of failed Lehman Brothers
and his partner in crime Stephen Schwarzman own Southern Cross.
Both gamblers with OPM (other peoples money).
Southern Cross are now refusing to pay their rent for leaseholds to the many Care(!) homes they own.
Local authorities have refused to pay their extortionate fees for people in their care and Southern Cross say they are broke.
How were gamblers on the worlds stock markets allowed to own and run Care homes in the UK ?
Profit before Care !
We should take the Care homes back into local community care.
Seize the assets of these mega rich individuals.
And start looking after our elderly properly.

Centrica Don't Pay Taxes.
Centrica becomes, yet another company refusing to pay their taxes.
Unhappy with the Governments rise in taxes,from 20% to 32%,
Centrica are threatening to shut the Morecambe Bay Gas fields.
These fields are used to ensure the Uk's energy needs during winter.
Centrica own British Gas. a once nationalised industry.
The Con-Dem's WILL give in to Centrica's threats and we will lose 1.5 Billion Pounds.
Time to re-nationalise Centrica.

Professors blogg: Opinion censorship in Swedish media. Link-search engine NOT the cause

on censorship exercised in The Guardian against links to Professors
blogg. Wikileaks Central had reported likewise (see “Possible gag order on the Guardian re Assange case?).
Update. As to the Swedish case, preliminary conclusions contained in the article here below and in the version in Second-Opinion on the responsibilities of the opinion-censorship in the Swedish media apparatus were based in written information provided to us by Twingly. Twingly was specifically informed at the moment of our consultation that I was preparing an article in the issue to be published abroad. After my report was published in the Swedish Second-Opinion Twingly changed their version in 180 degrees and now affirms instead that it was not their clients, the Swedish press, that exercised censorship to the Assange-articles in Professors blogg. First they say Twingly was not the responsible and implied the newspapers moderators. Now they say the newspapers were not at all the responsible. What has happened after our publication and why Källström is giving this totally new version only those actors know.

newspapers from their part gave inconclusive versions. Svenska
dagbladet informed per email that the problem was of “technical” nature
and “beyond their control”, implying that it was caused by an external
actor. Expressen (web-redaktionen) informed over the telephone that the
responsibility of whether blogs appeared linked to their articles is
clearly Twingly’s. But the journalist giving this information when
I talked to Expressen's web-redaktionen 17 March, 17:28 (call
loged from Italy), in spite of giving her name did not wish to be
quoted. Dagens Nyheter for their part plainly refused to comment.
Twingly denied any wrongdoing.

Shrewsbury Marches Against Cutbacks.
1000 people today marched through Shrewsbury against a massive attack on public services and jobs by the government and the Tory run administration in Shropshire. It was an extraordinary show of strength by local trade unions who were joined by young and old activists as they marched from the shire hall to the town square, clapped along the way by fellow townspeople
Mike Edwards from Shropshire trades council clearly was in awe of the turn out leading huge chants of ‘they say cutback we say fight back.’
Shropshire Council had voted earlier in the week to cut almost £40m from the budget over the next four years. Up to nine schools could be shut along with other public services with inevitable job losses
Roger McKenzie, assistant general secretary of Unison, said the event was “magnificent” and urged the crowd to go away and organise resistance.
Paul Brandon Chair of Right to Work said it was now all about the TUC demo on the 26th March and said we need to throw everything at this lot, to bring the government down with strikes, direct action and occupations. Reminding the crowd it’s a bankers crisis and not ours.

Huge Thanks To Norwich Hospital.
Two weeks ago, my father was found rowing an imaginary boat across the living room carpet.
An ambulance was called and the hospital administered anti-biotics and quality care.
On discharge, I met him at his home and continued the care.
The last evening there, his step son came round and I got a bottle of Jack Daniels.
3 times I threw up.
My father was still chuckling as I left for home the next morning.

My thanks to all the staff at Norwich Hospital.
Our family are very grateful.
